Epsom House

Garden and house merge in this Arts and Crafts-inspired reworking of an existing 1950’s bungalow.
The existing house, a weatherboard bungalow with tiled roof and wide eaves, was disconnected from its garden.
Lifting the ground level on the west side to meet the house level has created an intimate garden courtyard. A pergola extends the horizontal line of the roof and provides shade from westerly sun. The covered walkway for the new garage completes the courtyard.
